Thank you for the choice of Sprinter Review as a sample article of Retro Review #2.
I wrote already, it is a really "review" with information fullness and objective opinion.
Description of the Sprinter's weak sides and its problems is a very useful for us. And publishing of information about our plans is useful too. We can not refuse now!

So. I think we should say something about our today's work.

We continue work for Disk SubSystem of Estex (Sprinter's operating system). DSS 2.0 will be a result of this work. You will see it in January. But, probably, several new versions of DSS 1.x will be published during this period. More information about features of DSS 2.0 will be published some later.

User Menu tool will be published soon. You can found more information about this application in the our forum. And I hope you voted already?

We support work for a CP/M emulator (by Shaos). Usage of a lot of CP/M software on the Sprinter isnot a far possibility.

A new Special Game Configuration for the Sprinter was created. An arcade game, Thunder in the Deep (by Deviant group) use this configuration at first time. Demo version of this game coming soon. More information in the forum too. By the way, you can try to ask Anton Enin about details of this game...

A work of another configuration, Special Video Configuration will be shown in autumn. At first, several video clips will be published. Next, video convertor and video player will be published after full testing.

A new build-in keyboard driver will be created in September. It is a hot topic of the last time.

I read the excellent review Retroreview did of the Sprinter and I'm not sure I understood correctly but it's written you can't copy files from the CD Rom to the Sprinter, just explore it or play it if it's an audio CD.
Is it true ? Copying files from a CD-R to the hard disk of the Sprinter is not possible ?

Yes, we have not a program which can copy files from CD to HDD today. CD Browser is the very old program. Now we think that any temporary program not interesting for Sprinter users but it take a time of our programmers. The best way is support of CD File System in Estex.
So, CDFS will be supported in DSS 2.0. it will be finished in January.
