I was reading WOS forum and some people were chating about back to idea of General Sound (real or via Sprinter's sound card) on Sprinter.
Is that true? I think there are many users (all?) who would be strongly interested in it.

Yep. GS for Sprinter will be great thing, especially with .mp3 player IC and own RAM for .mp3 files.

Actualy I dont think mp3 player is very interesting, but who knows - Sprinter is not only a Spectrum, it's modern computer, so maybe mp3 player would be ok too...?
But GS is typical speccy hardware which should be available.

Actually that's true, Sprinter's constructors (if they are still interested in this forum) keep repeating their machine is contemporary computer.
hardware mp3 player might be a good add-on.
Would it be possible to use such an add-on for mp3 playing in Sprinter mode and for "general sound" emulation in Speccy mode?

Why ? mp3s is very good thing, musucians can do with this format much more than with old 4-channel .mods, also programmers would like to upload a single .mp3 file to RAM of sound card, issue "play" command to the card and forget about it for a while. The only disadvantage of .mp3s - they're HUGE.

Yes, I agree. I have heard they want to make such a piece of hardware for Atari 8 bit too.
