I have a lovely keyboard with latin and cyrrilic characters for the Sprinter, but how can I change the output from latin to cyrillic?
Is it only possible in special text editors, or is there possibly a key combination to change mode?

Yes, a key combination to change keyboard mode is +.

You must excuse my ignorance, but when I press "+", it just outputs a "+" and continues in latin-mode.
Now, where did I misunderstand you?

Hm... <Ctrl>+<Space> - it means pressing two keys together.
