The First Sprinter Update

   We publish Sprinter Update #1 (SU-1) for your computers. SU-1 intended for Sprinter computers with mainboards Sp2000 (Sp2000-Light) and with BIOS versions from 2.00 to 2.17.251. It's free for download.

   Sprinter computer use mainboard Sp2000 with a Programmable Logic Devices (PLD) for architecture flexibility. An advantage of a PLD is the ease of changing the internal logic firmware. If a change in the unit is required due to changes in system requirements, it is easy to reprogramming the PLD with a newer version of firmware. No change to the internal printed circuit board will be required. Each updating of firmware give you new features your computer. It take one minute of your attention for your Sprinter only.

   Today we publish First Sprinter Update (SU-1) which include new BIOS; new version of firmware for quick programming the PLD; software for support new features of your computer.

1. New BIOS v3.00.253.

   New BIOS include newer version of Setup Utility and new BIOS functions:

- bugs in RAM-Disk read/write functions is fixed
- bug in function of detecting ports for CPU memory frames is fixed
- function of reading of palette data is added

2. Tuner of Sprinter screen position in Setup Utility.

   New Setup Utility v1.58 support the changing of Sprinter screen position on the any monitor or TV screen.

3. Auto detecting of floppy disk devices.

   You can set 3,5" or 5,25" FDD as 1-st FDD or as 2-nd FDD. All variants of FDD connections will be auto detected by Sprinter.

4. Support external Spectrum BIOS.

   Now Sprinter flash-ROM chip not include Spectrum ROMs. And package of mainboard Sp2000 will not include Sprinter ROMs too. But all Sprinter users can download Spectrum ROMs from our website. Or you can use any different Spectrum ROMs. Spectrum modes is described in configuration files, which can be changed.

5. ZX Spectrum (original) mode is made.

   Now Sprinter can use all programs which need full compatibility with original ZX Spectrum. Sprinter computer in ZX Spectrum mode has ULA and interruptions of ZX Spectrum original computer.

6. New modes of Sprinter's Sound System.

   Now Sprinter has 16 bit stereo sound. New version of Sprinter's Sound System support stereo sound till 44KHz.

7. New Spectrum Launcher for support different Spectrum modes with external ROMs.

   Newer version of Spectrum Launcher for more comfortable work in Spectrum configuration. You can define Spectrum mode for each TRD file, load any Spectrum ROMs in the memory, to program returning from the spectrum programs.

8. ZX Mode Editor for configuration files of Spectrum modes.

New editor of configuration files which are used by the Spectrum Launcher.

You can edit standard Spectrum modes or set any Spectrum ROMs and create your Spectrum mode. You can save any variants of Spectrum on your Sprinter computer.

9. New Audio Player.

New Audio Player with support all modes of Sprinter's Sound System. Today it can play WAV files only. But it has visualization and support a usage of playlist.
